Installation

ColorClip Pro is available for macOS and Windows. Follow the instructions below for your operating system.

System Requirements

macOS

  • macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • Intel (x64) or Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3)
  • 50 MB disk space

Windows

  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • 50 MB disk space

macOS Installation

Download

  1. Visit the ColorClip Pro homepage
  2. Click the download button for your Mac architecture:
    • Apple Silicon - For M1, M2, M3 Macs
    • Intel - For older Intel-based Macs
  3. The file will download as ColorClip Pro-[version]-[arch].zip

Install

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file in your Downloads folder
  2. Double-click the ZIP file to extract it
  3. Drag ColorClip Pro.app to your Applications folder
  4. Launch ColorClip Pro from Applications or Spotlight

First Launch (macOS Security)

On first launch, macOS may show a security warning because the app is not from the Mac App Store:

  1. Right-click (or Control-click) on ColorClip Pro.app
  2. Select Open from the menu
  3. Click Open in the dialog that appears

Alternatively, you can go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway after the first launch attempt.

Windows Installation

Download

  1. Visit the ColorClip Pro homepage
  2. Click the Download for Windows button
  3. The file will download as ColorClip Pro-[version]-win.zip

Install

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file
  2. Right-click and select Extract All...
  3. Choose a destination folder (e.g., C:\Program Files\ColorClip Pro)
  4. Run ColorClip Pro.exe from the extracted folder

Create Desktop Shortcut (Optional)

  1. Right-click on ColorClip Pro.exe
  2. Select Send to → Desktop (create shortcut)

Updating ColorClip Pro

ColorClip Pro does not currently have automatic updates. To update:

  1. Download the latest version from the homepage
  2. Close the running ColorClip Pro application
  3. Replace the old application file with the new one
  4. Your palettes and settings are stored separately and will be preserved
Note: Your palette data is stored in your system's application data folder and won't be affected by updating the application.

Uninstalling

macOS

  1. Drag ColorClip Pro.app from Applications to the Trash
  2. To remove all data, also delete: ~/Library/Application Support/colorclip-pro

Windows

  1. Delete the ColorClip Pro folder
  2. To remove all data, also delete: %APPDATA%/colorclip-pro
